Description

The Osler Institute utilized state-of-the-art equipment to record our comprehensive Live Virtual Webinar, August 2023 Cytology Review Course, and bring it to you.  These files are stored “in the cloud,” so you can stream them anywhere, anytime, as long as you have an internet connection and watch or listen to them on your phone or computer.   Additionally, each online review is a downloadable copy of the syllabus corresponding to the Video lectures, available for your use while viewing or as a standalone study or clinical practice guide.

This comprehensive review is designed to update your clinical knowledge base and help you pass your Cytopathology exams (certifying or CC).  Emphasis is on evidence-based practice and board-relevant standards of care, incorporating new concepts and testing strategies as well as quality control and laboratory management techniques to help you hone your diagnostic and consulting skills.  Many of our previous participants found that the course improved their diagnostic and evaluation skills, helping them identify specific areas of weakness for self-study.

Learning Objectives

  • Describe the common types of cytology specimens and how to prepare them for evaluation correctly.
  • Recognize standard elements and benign reactive processes vs. abnormal and neoplastic lesions for each organ system.
  • Apply current consensus diagnostic terms and criteria for classifying non-neoplastic and neoplastic lesions of each organ system.
  • Understand the importance of implementing rapid on-site evaluation (ROSE) of tissue samples derived from fine needle aspirations to reduce healthcare costs and patient inconvenience.
  • Apply increased knowledge of cytopathology to achieve subspecialty certification or recertification.

Guarantee

The Osler “Until You Pass” Guarantee

The Osler Institute is committed to providing high-quality education to our learners. We offer courses that are guaranteed to help them confidently pass their examinations. In the unlikely event that a learner does not pass their examination, we allow them to re-enroll in a course tuition-free* until they succeed. Suppose you have attended an Osler course or subscribed to an online review and failed the examination for which the course was designed within the following nine months. In that case, you can re-enroll in an Osler course or resubscribe to the same term online review until you pass. This offer is tuition-free, but a corresponding failed examination attempt must precede each free course.
Please be aware that the course registration fee does not cover hotel costs, meeting amenities, or any additional mock orals or study materials. If you want to enroll in a course under the guarantee, please make sure that you complete the enrollment process more than 30 days before the course start date. By doing so, you can avoid any late fees that may apply if you enroll after this time frame.

*Some restrictions apply: The course must be equal to or lesser value than the previous course. You may upgrade to a different course at a discounted rate. If the same course isn’t available, we offer a three-month subscription-based course in its place. Additional mock orals or a la carte course options are excluded from our guarantee option.
